Why Not Build A New Hospice?
- The current hospice was built many years ago, its
ageing facilities do not reach Marie Curie's own high
standards or those required by law.
- Its limitations affected patients' comfort, their
privacy and the standards of care they received.
- Facilities are limited. There are no en-suite bathrooms,
toilets are located well away from rooms, there are
few single rooms in the hospice and not enough accommodation
for visiting families.
- The building's infrastructure is failing. The heating,
windows and hot water tanks all need to be replaced.
It also lacks piped oxygen, which is standard in all
modern healthcare facilities.
- This is why a new hospice is the only answer.
These are all reasons given by Marie Curie for
building a new hospice...
in Glasgow
The people of Glasgow have been given the chance to build a new hospice.
The people of East Surrey have been given excuses.
